💸LUDA, WHERE CAN I DESTROY MY BUDGET? 💸⁠ ⁠ Is there money burning a huge hole in your pocket? Do you ignore price tags on everything you see? Do you swipe your credit card like it’s your last day on Earth?⁠ ⁠ If so, you may want to take notes on this post 😉⁠ ⁠ After my last post (the 5 cheapest countries I’ve been to), some of you wanted to know the opposite -- where did I spend the most money in my travels? ⁠ ⁠ So without any further ado, grab your $100 bills and use them as tissues as I present to you the 5 MOST EXPENSIVE countries that I’ve been to (so far!):⁠ ⁠ 🇨🇭 Switzerland: There’s nothing like the feeling of screaming internally as you shell out $35 of your hard-earned money for some meh fondue (which, let’s face it, was just glorified pieces of bread and melted cheese in a pot *cry* 😭)⁠ ⁠ 🇮🇸 Iceland: Iceland is notoriously known as one of the most expensive countries in the world to travel to, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when the price of a week's worth of groceries at home was equal to the price of groceries for ONE DAY in Iceland. What else? $120/night in a basic hotel, $15 for a meal at McDonalds, and $12 for a bottle of beer. ⁠ ⁠ 🇱🇮 Liechtenstein: A small country with a big price tag. Where else can you buy a simple magnet for $8? Oh that’s right: Liechtenstein ⁠😬⁠ ⁠ 🇲🇻 Maldives: I'll be honest and say that the Maldives is on this list only because I splurged on an overwater bungalow ( #YOLO, right? 😅). Prices start at around $300 for the most basic option but can go over $1,000 a night (or more!) in the high season⁠ ⁠ 🇯🇵 Japan: Another country that could be done on a budget. However, Japan was one of the first countries that I visited back in 2016 when I wasn't such an expert budget traveler (*cough*). One of the biggest dents in my budget was the cost of transportation when I paid somewhere around $250 for a 7-day JR Rail pass⁠ ---⁠ What was your most expensive country?
