A WALK AMID THE LOSSES - part one • • This week we had an assignment in our doula class to walk a labyrinth or out in nature and hold grief and loss in the steps. Here is my journal entry: Our Labyrinth - at the Kirkridge Retreat House just next to the Standing Stones of Columcille - is under 6 inches of snow and ice, so I will walk along the woods close to our home. I will walk holding losses in the space my me sustains for such sacred duties and wanderings. Today I will walk slowly holding in my heart, a time of loss and grief that we have survived through. One loss and all losses. They collect and gather themselves together all at once when we have the mortal scab of death scratched off with the passing of those in our ranks and circles. Each new death, tears at the wound afresh. Holding in my heart the many who have left this earthplace since my wife and I married, I walk slowly adding the dead to each step. The trees are barren of leaves, with the exception of a rattling beech leaf every so often. A leaf that is holding on against all odds. Much like we do when we hold loss deep in us. The rattling leaf the noise that alone can drown out the wind. It is cold. It is very cold. Zoe is first in my heart. Zoe Alexandra - our beloved. She is always the first among equals. Her death taught me the way of all loss; that grieving often requires a hand in working out its power and weakening presence across the flesh of our lives. 四国、part.2😊🌈 香川県高松市は自身が数年住んでた街なので、10年ぶりに訪れた景色は何処も懐かしく感じたが、ここに来たら絶対来たかった場所があった😌一番は峰山公園展望台🌈⭐️この展望台は高松市を一望出来たり、小豆島、女木島、男木島、直島、岡山県を見渡せる絶景☺️🎵少々行きにくいが是非行ってみて欲しいところ🤗✨ 讃岐うどんを食べ金刀比羅をひたすら登った後、いよいよ高知へ🚗🎵約130キロの道中、徳島のかずら橋に寄りたかったが今回は時間の関係でスルー😗今頃は紅葉で綺麗だろな🍁ちなみに徳島の大歩危、小歩危付近の景色はめちゃくちゃいいです☺️ 下道を走ること2時間半くらいで高知県に到着✨高知は四万十川、室戸岬、足摺岬、四国カルストなど自然や大地の壮大さを感じられるスポットがあり好きな場所☺️それと坂本龍馬が好きな人にはたまらんと思う😙車も電気もない時代、よく当時の江戸まで来たなと思うし、上士、下士といった身分制度があった土佐の人たちの反骨精神は相当なものだっただろうな💫 高知の海や情緒溢れる街並みを肌で感じながら、ふと一度きりの人生だし今を懸命に生きなければならんなぁと感じた😌 #桂浜 #旅行 #summer #sky #nature #instamood #beautiful #sun #naturephotography #blue #photography #island #love #beach #travel #vacation #ocean #instagram #sea #happy #japan #trip #夏 #高知 #travelphotography #instagood #香川 #四国 #sunset
