#BREAKING The high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh received light snowfall on Wednesday even as the night temperature continued an upward trend due to overcast conditions across the region, a meteorological department official said. The department has issued an orange warning for the twin Union Territories for Thursday and Friday, predicting moderate to heavy snowfall and rain under the influence of western disturbance which had hit the region.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor GC Murmu on Monday favoured the early assembly polls in the Union Territory and said the power should go into the hands of the people "as soon as possible". He was speaking to reporters after dedicating a 72-metre-long multi cell box type load class 70 bridge to the nation at Draj in Rajouri district. Responding to a question of media persons about holding of assembly elections in the UT, Mr Murmu said, "This is what I am saying that the power should go into the hands of the people as soon as possible. This is what we are saying always." Asked further about the specific time frame when the polls will be held, he said, "It has its own process." General Officer Commanding-in-chief, Northern Command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, Lt Gen Harsha Gupta were also present on the occasion. The bridge, constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), spans over Draj nullah and connects the Draj area to Kotranka tehsil under Rajouri district. We celebrated the justice given to Disha’s culprits and soon enough gone back to our little screens with our perfect worlds, able to do and talk anything with no consequences. We attribute our prominence in society by the number of followers/fans on youtube and other social platforms. We are all glad that most of us are not traumatized, but our experience doesn’t define our society as a whole. We created reasonable safety regulations like mandatory seat- belt, wearing a helmet while driving and drink-drive but we already attributed that our society’s sense of sexual control is damaged and no laws can control this behaviour!!!!!! We as a society pick and choose battles. Instant justice provided to Disha because of public outrage but what happened to other horrible cases like #Nirbhaya, #unnao, #kathua and many more. I have only these questions to all of us What are we waiting for to provide instant justice to these brutal human beings? How does our legal system justify for this delayed punishment? Are we conditioned to viewing and reading about horrific incidents and thanking God that this didn’t happen to our loved ones? What are we doing to save our daughters - Yes we are saving our daughters by allowing these accused spend our hard-earned money for their survival in prisons so that they do not come out and start rampaging again on our daughters Next time we do not want to hear that daughters are being raised as SON.. We want our daughters to be raised as daughters but nothing more and should be left to live on their own terms !!!!!!! A big Thank you to Telangana police and KCR Garu for this desired Instant Justice. Proud to be from a state which hopefully brings a change we all want
