The Four Last Things of man are; Death, Judgement, Heaven and Hell. ⁣ •⁣ On Death: St. Paul demonstrated that Christ overcame death with His Passion, Death and Resurrection. Although our Lord opened the way for our Eternal Life, each of us must still face our earthly mortality first. None of us know when our time here is up. We fear death naturally as it’s unknown and inevitable. But for those who have lived a life of obedience to the Lord, death may be less scary, as it becomes a pathway to Heaven. Still, none of us can presume that our final moments here on earth will lead us to Heaven. ⁣ •⁣ On Judgement: It is stated in the Nicene Creed that "He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His Kingdom will have no end." Regardless of when Jesus’ Second Coming is, each of us will face Him, which determines, whether or not our Eternal destiny is in Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen says that we choose our fate by the way we've lived our lives and based on how we've answered God's call.⁣ •⁣ On Heaven: This is the final destination and home we all must strive to enter. There is no hatred among other souls there. You live in perfect serenity with your loved ones who have also, God willing, made it there. You're surrounded by goodness that is never forced or boring. St. Augustine once said that our hearts are restless until they find rest in God. In Heaven, the heart is no longer hungry or lonely. That restlessness is a thing of the past. ⁣ •⁣ On Hell: Jesus referred to hell numerous times in the Gospels as a place of fire, weeping, and gnashing of teeth. St. Padre Pio said that those who didn't believe in Hell would when they got there. I am called to be a truth sayer. The irony, or strategic move of the enemy rather, is that my whole life up until the development of my faith and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, I had no strong opinions... or if I did, I rarely spoke up about them. I was actually deceived into believing I was kind of stupid and that other people probably knew more than me anyway, or that if I challenged others too much I would lose their love. Of course the devil would have me believe or be worried about these things. Think about how many healed lives these lies would be preventing! Up until recently the only place I felt truly strong and confident was in my work as a counselor. I knew I knew what I knew about human behavior, and what helps people heal. And now that I’m called to ministry I have been emboldened by the Holy Spirit to declare truth relentlessly. God has gifted me with a very strong spiritual gift of discernment. And I am realizing now the honor this gift is and also the inherent responsibility that comes with it. I am called to speak truth with love, and to help break strongholds in people’s lives. And I accept this calling with my whole heart and soul. ❤️ . . “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” - Ephesians 6:12
